Seven evenings with Dr. Nadine Plummer, ND — a licensed naturopathic doctor whose clinical work sits where weight, hormones and women’s health meet — on understanding hormones, menopause, mood and the years beyond. Every guest also receives a private 90-minute consultation with Dr. Plummer. A week of gourmet plant-based meals, spa treatments and winter trails in the Monashee foothills.
All-inclusive — meals, seven evening lectures, a private 90-minute consultation, spa treatments & more
The weight settles differently and won’t come off the way it used to. Sleep breaks apart at three in the morning. Anxiety turns up without anything attached to it. Energy that used to be reliable simply isn’t.
And when you bring it to a doctor, you’re usually handed one of two answers: a prescription, or a shrug and the word “normal.”
You don’t need another article or another supplement. You need someone with the time to explain what is actually happening in your body — and the training to tell you what can be done about it.
Far more of this is changeable than you have ever been told.
The Lecture Series
Seven evenings. One subject, taken apart one piece at a time.
Every session ends with open questions from the floor.
Sunday, November 29
The transition explained end to end — perimenopause, menopause, after. What’s true, what’s myth, and why so many women are told nothing at all.
Monday, November 30
The transition explained end to end — perimenopause, menopause, after. What’s true, what’s myth, and why so many women are told nothing at all.
Tuesday, December 1
Dr. Plummer’s signature subject. Why weight behaves differently after forty-five, and why she doesn’t believe the gain is inevitable.
Wednesday, December 2
Hormones and mood. Why anxiety and low mood arrive in this window, and how often they get treated as something else.
Thursday, December 3
Sleep. Why it fractures, what it does to everything else, and what restores it.
Friday, December 4
Thyroid, fatigue, and how to read your own lab work.
Saturday, December 5
The question she gets more than any other. What the research supports, what the alternatives actually are, intimacy, and the years ahead.
Dr. Plummer is a licensed naturopathic doctor, registered in both Ontario and British Columbia. Her method is evidence-anchored: recommendations she can point to research for, not whatever is trending this month.
A private consultation with Dr. Plummer during the week — your history, your symptoms and your recent lab work, reviewed line by line. The kind of appointment almost nobody gets any more. Bring your bloodwork.
Seven days of nourishing food, winter trails through the Monashee foothills, spa treatments, and real rest. Guests report better sleep, steadier energy, and a mood that finally holds.
Cooking classes teach you to prepare a sampling of the gourmet plant-based meals you’ll eat all week. You’ll go home with recipes, confidence, and an approach you actually understand.
There is a particular relief in a room where nobody has to explain themselves. Arrive a guest, leave as family — guests often swap numbers by the end of the week and keep encouraging each other long after.
Every other week this month has something in it that someone else needs from you. This one doesn’t. Let the rest of the world wait — and come home on the sixth with a plan instead of a deficit.

Your Guest Speaker
Dr. Nadine Plummer is a licensed naturopathic doctor whose clinical work sits where weight, hormones and women’s health meet. She completed a four-year post-graduate medical program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and is registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario and the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia, as well as being a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
At Paradise Health she leads the OMIP+ weight-loss program, working every week with women who have been told their weight is simply what midlife looks like. She is also the author of Authentic You: A Step by Step Journey to the Habits Beyond Dieting.
Her method is unhurried and evidence-anchored: a full history, a line-by-line review of lab work, and recommendations she can point to research for. She also brings something no credential supplies — her own years of losing and regaining weight before she found her way through, and a settled conviction that the woman across from her can too.
This November she joins Silver Hills for seven evenings on hormones, menopause, mood and the years beyond — and a private consultation with every guest.
What Makes Silver Hills Different
Come as a guest. Leave as family.
At Silver Hills, wellness isn’t just a program — it’s a personal journey guided by people who genuinely care. Our staff takes the time to truly listen, to understand what you need, and to adapt your experience accordingly. Hours of conversation. Thoughtful adjustments. The kind of attention that guests say they’ve never experienced anywhere else.
Some guests respond with deep emotion. Not because something is wrong — but because they finally feel truly cared for. Often for the first time in years.
This is what 40 years of caring for people looks like. Since 1984, when Phil and Eileen Brewer moved out of their own bedroom to welcome their first guest, Silver Hills has been a place where strangers arrive and family leaves. Where healing happens not just through food and education, but through genuine human connection.
One price covers everything — so you can focus entirely on your health.
Nourishing food. Spa treatments. Winter trails. Rest. Seven evenings with Dr. Nadine Plummer on hormones, menopause, mood and the years beyond — and ninety minutes of her undivided attention. If you’ve been telling yourself “someday” — what if someday was November 29th?
Only 13 rooms available — this retreat fills quickly
Many of our guests come solo, and on a week like this one it matters less than you’d think — everyone in the room is dealing with some version of the same thing. There is a particular relief in not having to explain yourself. People bond over meals, on the trails, and in the questions after each lecture. You may well leave with phone numbers and plans to reunite.
Ninety minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Plummer during your stay. She takes a full history, works through your symptoms in the order they actually arrived, and reviews your recent lab work line by line rather than reducing it to one flagged number. You leave with a plan. If you have bloodwork from the last twelve months, bring a copy — if you don’t, ask your family doctor for one before you come.
Yes. A large share of the week is about the years after — bone and heart health, sleep, weight, thyroid, energy and intimacy, all of which remain hormone-influenced long after periods stop. Guests join us anywhere from their thirties to their seventies-plus, and the private consultation is built around wherever you actually are.
Absolutely. Many guests arrive not sure — and leave astounded. Our kitchen creates gourmet plant-based meals using quality produce from our own garden (when in season). As one guest told us: “I had a bias against vegan food. My mind is completely changed. I am absolutely astounded at the quality and deliciousness.” You won’t leave hungry, and you’ll go home with recipes you’ll actually want to make.
Silver Hills is a wellness retreat, not a medical facility, and the evening lectures are educational rather than individual medical advice. The private consultation is different — that is a one-on-one appointment with a licensed naturopathic doctor, registered in British Columbia, and it is where anything personal to you gets addressed. You’ll leave with practical knowledge you can take to your own healthcare provider.
Not at all. Dr. Plummer teaches the science first — it stands on its own. Where timeless wisdom is drawn on, it’s offered as support, never as a requirement. Guests of every background feel at home here.
